Help Us Create Clean and Safe Ports!

The Clean and Safe Ports Project needs your help to ensure good jobs, healthy communities and a safe environment. Join us in asking Congress to pass reforms that will give local government the power to set high standards for job and environmental quality.
The Coalition for Clean & Safe Ports has worked hard alongside port authorities to find long-lasting solutions to the problems of pollution and poverty created by the port industry. When fully enacted, our landmark Clean Trucks Program will bring dramatic improvements to the lives of both port truck drivers and communities suffering from port-related pollution.
But this landmark program has been blocked by lawsuits from trucking companies, and an outdated 30-year-old federal law that prevents local authorities from protecting the health and well-being of workers and the community.
Our coalition has joined with legislators, port authorities and others to demand that ports be granted the right to solve their own local problems and to set local standards that improve conditions for workers, community and the environment.
Please sign and send the postcard to the Congressional Transportation and Infrastructure Committee asking them to update the transportation law. Help us ensure good jobs and clean air for our communities.
