THE 2014 CITY OF JUSTICE AWARDS DINNER
Over 900 guests attended the largest progressive awards dinner in Los Angeles on December 11th. The theme of this year’s event was Cities of the Future. As the political center of gravity has shifted from DC to cities, Los Angeles has become a vibrant epicenter of social change. Through our work, LAANE continues to create a City of the Future that includes greater economic equality, a healthy environment and good jobs.
The 2014 Program honored visionary progressive leaders, including Union Labor Lawyer/Partner Julie Gutman Dickinson, Westfield Co-CEO & CFO Peter S. Lowy, ABC Award-Winning Comedy Series “Modern Family” and Transportation Trades Department President Ed Wytkind. Actors Robinne Lee and Stephen Bishop emceed the event, and Sheila Kuehl and Amy Elaine Wakeland were guest speakers.
The highlights of the event included actor Ed O’Neill’s personal story and the celebration of the Raise LA campaign, with hotel workers featured on-stage plus a moving video presentation, “Raising LA.”
